School of International and European Criminal Law

The School of International and European Criminal Law was held in Borjomi, in collaboration with the Institute of Comparative and Transnational Criminal Law at the TSU Faculty of Law, Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Humboldt University of Berlin, Philipps University of Marburg, and the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University, funded by the Volkswagen Science Foundation. The program attracted undergraduate and graduate students from the law faculties of Tbilisi State University, the University of Georgia, Sokhumi State University, Ilia State University, and Akaki Tsereteli State University, aiming to deepen their knowledge in international criminal law.

 

The event featured lectures from the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Georgia and TSU Professor Merab Turava; Professor Edward Schramm of Friedrich Schiller University of Jena; Professor Boris Burghardt of Humboldt University of Berlin and Philipps University of Marburg; TSU Associate Professor Giorgi Tumanishvili; Professor Bachana Jishkariani from the University of Georgia; and TSU Associate Professor Giorgi Dgebuadze. These lectures provided valuable insights into the field of international criminal law, highlighting its significance and application.

 

The Volkswagen Science Foundation project is directed by Professor Edward Schramm of Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Professor Boris Burghardt of Humboldt University of Berlin and Philipps University of Marburg, and TSU Associate Professor Giorgi Dgebuadze.
